Sony Device Monitor: The fast, fail-safe way to manage all your infrastructure devices.
Automatically update machine setups. With Device Monitor, you'll have the tools and information to help minimize downtime and achieve greater certainty on the operating status of your devices - and you can use Device Monitor to track information on devices for which no interface exists.
Automatic personnel notification and reporting. In the event of an error condition, Device Monitor can automatically contact the proper personnel to speed the notification process for faster response - and can also notify managers on real-time device performance. Reports can now be issued according to a weekly schedule.
Comprehensive maintenance reporting. Device Monitor can issue reports on pre-set maintenance due schedules, list the elapsed intervals since the last performed maintenance for each machine, and log work performed.
Web-based simplicity and security. Device Monitor is completely web-based, so there's no need for custom installation - and it resides entirely on your corporate intranet so security is assured.
Flexible coverage for large installations. For large-scale installations or systems that link numerous sites, multiple Device Monitor application servers can share a centralized database.
Central control of a monitoring web. You can create a monitoring web in which site-specific Device Monitors report all relevant data back to a centralized Device Monitor that responds when thresholds are exceeded, sends notifications, answers messages, tracks maintenance sessions and generates reports.
Support for Sony cameras. Device Monitor can now monitor Sony studio cameras through Sony camera network units (CNU) - continually checking cameras for health and storing setups and scene files in a central location to enable quick review and simple configuration changes (additional hardware is required).
Support for MIB definitions. With Device Monitor, you can now load MIB definitions into your database and use these to define metrics, components and traps.
Support by numerous platforms. Device Monitor is support by Windows®2000, XP and Vista™ as well as UNIX® variants such as Solaris® and Linux®. Device Monitor has also added support for SNMPv2.
Enhanced XML functionality. Device Monitor can now be queried for current device and machine information via XML, enabling end-users to integrate it into their own custom monitoring systems.
