01Top picks

Which Sony OLED Fits Your Wall?

Each model below is matched to the wall, room and budget it suits best.

BRAVIA 8 II
Best overall for a wall-mounted Sony OLED. Sony lists the 55- and 65-inch models for the SU-WL855 bracket and a 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern, and Trusted Reviews calls it arguably the best-sounding OLED TV on the market.
BRAVIA XR A95L
The premium QD-OLED pick in 55, 65 and 77 inches, all on 300 × 300 mm VESA with SU-WL855 support. It adds Dolby Vision, HDMI 2.1 with 4K/120 and a 60W Acoustic Surface Audio+ system.
BRAVIA XR8B
A 2025 OLED in 55, 65 and 77 inches with Dolby Vision, two HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K/120 and screen-as-speaker sound. Confirm it on Sony's bracket compatibility list before ordering a mount.
BRAVIA XR A80L
The largest Sony OLED here at 83 inches, also offered in 55, 65 and 77. It supports HDMI 2.1, 4K/120, VRR and Dolby Vision; check the SU-WL855 list for your size.
BRAVIA 6
A 2026 OLED at 77 inches with Triluminos Pro color and Google TV, a lower-cost route to a big wall screen. Confirm VESA and bracket details in its manual.
BRAVIA XR A90K
A compact 42- or 48-inch OLED for bedrooms, offices and gaming walls. The 42-inch weighs about 29.3 lb and measures 2.24 in deep without the stand.

02Specs

What Mounting Specs Should You Check?

VESA pattern, weight and bracket support decide whether a mount fits safely.

Sony's support documentation gives the clearest mounting data for two models. The BRAVIA 8 II weighs 17.2 kg (about 37.9 lb) at 55 inches and 22.9 kg (about 50.5 lb) at 65 inches without the stand. The A95L weighs 17.6 kg (about 38.8 lb), 23.4 kg (about 51.6 lb) and 35.2 kg (about 77.6 lb) at 55, 65 and 77 inches. Both use a 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern and list an approximate 1.5 m power cord.

Any bracket you choose must carry the TV's weight, match the VESA pattern, use the correct screw size and depth and give the clearance or tilt you need. Your wall matters too: solid masonry or properly reinforced studs are preferable, and plasterboard alone is generally unsuitable for a large OLED.

On electronics.sony.com, the 55-inch A95L currently shows as no longer available, so check stock for the 65- and 77-inch sizes.

03Trade-offs

How Does Sony Compare With LG and Samsung?

Where Sony leads, where rivals lead and what that means on a wall.

  • Picture accuracy

A 2026 comparison credits Sony's processing with giving the BRAVIA 8 II an edge in accuracy over the LG G5 and Samsung S95F.

  • Peak brightness

The same comparison reports the LG G5 and Samsung S95F can be brighter, which matters more in a sunlit room.

  • Built-in sound

Acoustic Surface Audio+ turns the screen into the speaker, so dialogue comes from the picture on a mounted TV.

  • Smart platform

Sony OLEDs run Google TV with AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in; LG uses webOS and Samsung uses Tizen.

04How-to

How Do You Mount an OLED TV Safely?

A step-by-step sequence for a clean, secure installation.

  1. Confirm the full model number on the TV label or support page, since regional suffixes change bracket fit and dimensions.
  2. Check the VESA pattern and weight, then pick a bracket rated for both.
  3. Find solid masonry or reinforced studs and use fixings approved for that wall type.
  4. Plan cable routes for power, HDMI, Ethernet and audio before drilling, with a service loop for future changes.
  5. Set the center of the screen close to seated eye level, not above a high mantel.
  6. Lift the TV with two people, hold the chassis rather than the screen and follow Sony's model-specific installation guide.
  7. Update the TV firmware once it is mounted and connected.

05Mistakes

What Mistakes Should You Avoid?

The errors that most often spoil a wall-mounted OLED.

  • Never buy a bracket by screen size alone; check VESA pattern and weight rating.
  • Do not assume every size or region of a model uses the same bracket.
  • Avoid overlong screws, which can damage internal components; use the specified hardware.
  • Leave room for ventilation instead of pressing the TV against an uneven wall.
  • Account for room lighting and reflections before choosing the wall.
  • Leave a cable service loop so HDMI swaps and repairs stay easy.
