FE 28–70 mm F3.5–5.6 OSS II

This high-performance full-frame zoom lens covers a 28–70 mm range that is often the first choice for scenery, portraits, snapshots and much more. Despite an ideal range and superb optical performance, its largest diameter is 72.5 mm and overall length is 83 mm. With a weight of just 10.4 oz (293 g), this remarkable lens is a compact, mobile choice for day-to-day shooting.

Three aspherical elements combine with one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element to deliver excellent optical performance throughout the zoom range. Clear, lifelike rendering has been achieved without colour bleeding. A 7-blade circular aperture unit contributes to attractive, natural-looking bokeh.

AF/AE tracking speed that can keep up with the 120fps continuous burst capability of the α9 III, the ability to precisely track and focus even while zooming, and other features take full advantage of the advanced capabilities of the latest α series bodies. And thanks to an effective dust and moisture resistant design this is a lens you can depend on in tough conditions.

Optical image stabilization that utilizes advanced algorithms achieves excellent stabilization for handheld shooting. Lens stabilization also works with in-body stabilization and Sony’s Active Mode to deliver reliable stabilization for movies. The Breathing Compensation feature provided in α series bodies is also supported, greatly reducing distracting angle of view shifts and allowing smooth rack focusing.
