Purchased the Sony Product in Jan this year, and couldn't be more happier with the performance. Has a few major apps built into the player, and can add more if need be. Very clear picture when tied into Wifi at home. Highly recommend for a family or person on tight budget that needs a Movie disc player with Built in apps without spending extra cash on any Fire stick or Roku device.

I purchased this player strictly for streaming and it was the largest waste of money that I've ever spent. The player will NOT stay connected to the wifi. It is the ONLY device in my house that i have this issue with. The internal LAN adapter has to be the cheapest that Sony could've put in this thing. There are days that, once i FINALLY get it connected to the internet, that it will just randomly shut off. Then when you power it back on the internal memory utterly and LITERALLY FORGETS the LAN information you JUST put in. It will turn itself off multiple times and reset before it stays connected. At least until you turn it off and the thing has another brain fart and disconnects again. It was fine for the first 3 weeks or so of owning it before it started doing this. I will NEVER purchase anything sony EVER again. I'm an extremely disappointed in this. If i could give negative stars, i would. Anytime i see someone getting ready to purchase the player, i convince them otherwise.

Bad purchase

Used maybe 10 times in a year. Now will not respond to anything. Turns on, but will not turn off disc will not open. Off warranty and hardly lasted at all.

Please try a power reset by unplugging the unit from the wall for at least 60 seconds; then, while the unit is still unplugged, press and hold the "Open/Close" button on the front panel and plug the power cord back in to attempt a forced eject of the tray. If the device remains stuck and is outside the warranty period, we recommend visiting our service portal to find an authorized repair center that can assist with a hardware evaluation: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/service?language=en_US

There aren't many Blu Ray players on the market now but this one is very good. It has built in Wi-Fi too. I would buy another if one of the other players in the house failed.

I purchased this to play Blu-ray and DVDs through both HDMI and SCART conversion to TV. The quality is excellent as expected from a Sony. However, I am confused by the apps add-ons and linking to various accounts to access more usability. I have watched video helps and linking to Cyberlink etc and not been successful to date. So... 5 stars for playing Blr-ray/DVDs 3-4 stars on additional functionality.

product looks fine except i cannot get started. it would be useful to have full operating instructions / manual in the box. it would also be useful with a suitable HDMI cable in the box as this is where i think my problem is.

Bought this to watch older DVDs as could not transfer onto usb easily So neat and tidy hardly notice it sat on soundbar Set up so simple following on screen instructions, setting up Wi-Fi was a breeze took longer to input password than actual setup Perfectly clear crisp picture, lots of extras that might no need or use

Frozen in its tracks

I had originally purchased a Sony BDP-BX370 in November of 2023. By February of 2024 it was no longer functioning. I couldn't turn it on, and when I managed to do it, all functions were frozen and I couldn't even open it It was graciously replaced by Sony with a BDP-S3700. Now (in November 0f 2024) it too has suffered the same fate: frozen and locked.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Our apologies for the inconvenience that this may have caused. Performing a power reset can help resolve the issue. To perform the power reset, press and hold the POWER button on the front of the Blu-ray Disc player for 10 seconds. The Blu-ray Disc player should turn off. If it does not turn off, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
