I got my sony psw2 dac/amp around 2016 and have loved it ever since. I chose sony over other makers because they maintain high standards and produce gear that will be supported over time. I didnt want exotic gear that put too much “air” between me and other listeners. My use is in a music production setting to check mixes using Sennheiser HD600, Etymotics 4S, and Bayer 860 & 990 headphones. The prs2 has two output impedance setting which drive these headphones very well, the Etymotic really benefits from the amp. It’s portability means i can bring it on tour, even use it for playback. I originally paired it with an ipod 7th gen. The prs2 connected easily with the Apple usb cable. Recently I updated to a new DP-X1 digital player (huge memory, HD playback modes & much better electronics than engame ipod, and great sounding with low impedance iem’s) But for my older headphones i still use it with the Sony (needs a special usb cable, “micro to mini”; $2 from china). Best of all I can still connect the sony prs2 to all my latest gear: iphone, ipad, and macbookpro just using the Sony input selector. IOS gear is quick to connect, osX machines recognize the prs but you have to choose your output manually from the audio menu. -jrain

Bought this to use at work and home. Works great at work, but can not get my PC at home to recognize it. If it would just work, it would be 5 stars...
