No sound is heard from the Sony multimedia monitor.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

NOTE: Some multimedia displays do not include built-in speakers. External speakers that are connected to the monitor must be plugged in to the monitor headphone output jack.

    1. Verify that the audio cable is connected from the audio output of the computer to the audio input of the display.
    2. Plug a set of headphones into the headphone output of the computer to confirm the computer is functioning properly.

NOTE: If no sound can be heard through the headphones, the computer is experiencing sound issues. Contact the computer manufacturer for further troubleshooting.

    3. Press and hold the Reset switch on the Sony® display.

NOTE: This will restore the volume and mute levels to factory default (as well as all other monitor functions).

    4. Verify the multimedia display speakers are working by plugging them into any audio source that has a compatible stereo headphone output.

NOTE: Examples are a portable cassette player, radio, or stereo.
