The computer will not start when connected to the docking station or port replicator.

    Follow this procedure to troubleshoot the notebook computer not starting when attached to the docking station or port replicator.

    IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

    IMPORTANT: The docking station or port replicator must have power in order for it to work properly.

    1. Plug the AC adapter used with the notebook into the docking station or port replicator.
    2. Ensure the port replicator or docking station is connected correctly.
    3. Remove any devices attached to the docking station or port replicator.
    4. Reset the computer BIOS to the default settings .

    If the notebook computer is still not starting when attached to the docking station or port replicator, service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
