How to change the system logon password.
- Restart the computer.
- Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, double-click the User Accounts icon.
- In the User Accounts window, under Pick a task, click the Change my password button.
- In the Type the current password box, enter the current user password.
NOTE: If this account does not have a password, press the TAB key.
- In the Type the new password box, type the new password.
- In the Type the new password again to confirm box, type the password again.
- In the Type a...password hint box, type a word or phrase describing the password.
- Click the Change Password button.
- Restart the computer.
