How to change travel methods used for direction in the Maps application.

Follow these steps to change measurements to change the selected travel method (Driving, Transit or Walking) in the Maps application, either for default setting or just for specific searches.

1. Click the Start button, and then click Maps.
2. In the Maps window, on the left side of the window, click or tap the Settings button.

   

3. In the SETTINGS screen, under General, click or tap Preferred directions.
4. Under Preferred directions, choose Driving, Transit, or Walking.

   

NOTE: To change the travel method for a specific search, click or tap on the Driving, Transit, or Walking button above the search.
