The Digital Paper App won't connect

    The Digital Paper App won't connect because a digital certification (CA) won't install. Follow these steps to reconnect the Digital Paper App to your Digital Paper system:

    1. Connect your device to the computer with a USB cable.
      • The Connecting to Digital Paper... window appears.

      • If the Pairing with the Digital Paper. window doesn't appear, go to step 2.

    2. Disconnect the USB cable between your computer and your device.
    3. Disable the firewall and anti-virus software on your computer.
      • Refer to your computer support or software provider for details..
      • For Webroot SecureAnywhere® anti-virus software, use the shut down protection option to stop all real-time protection and malware defense.
    4. Shut down all programs running.
      • If you're using a Microsoft® Windows® computer, turn off all programs in the lower right-hand-corner System Tray.
    5. Reconnect your computer and device with the USB cable.
    6. Activate the Digital Paper App and try pairing.
    7. After connection is successful, re-enable your computer's firewall and anti-virus software.

    Check the Certificate

    If the issue still occurs, you can try these additional steps:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable between your computer and your device.
    2. Initialize your device.
      1. Press the Home button.
      2. Tap Settings.
      3. Tap System Settings.
      4. Tap Initialize Digital Paper.
    3. Uninstall the Digital Paper App.
      • Follow the instructions of the installer and make sure to reboot your computer.
    4. Install the Digital Paper App.
      • Follow the instructions of the installer and make sure to reboot your computer.
    5. Delete C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\SonyCorporation\Digital Paper App folder.
    6. Press the Windows key + r key to start the Run with file name application.
    7. Enter certmgr.msc in the application name and click OK.
    8. From the certmgr's left pane, select Trusted Root Certification Authority.
    9. Select Certificate.
    10. Select the certificate digitalpaper.local from the right pane and delete it from the right click menu.
      • If it's listed more than once, delete them all.
    11. Quit all unnecessary applications.
    12. Turn off the firewall.
    13. Reconnect your computer and device with the USB cable.
    14. Activate the Digital Paper App and try pairing.
