Noise is heard from the LinkBuds
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Before you start
For LinkBuds only: Update the headphones' software to the latest version. Doing so may resolve the issue. Perform the update before proceeding.
- Select your problem:
- Noise is heard while playing music
Go to step 5.- Noise is heard while talking on the phone
Go to step 2.
- Select the device you are using:
- Computer
- Go to step 3.
- Something other than a computer (such as a smartphone etc.)
- Go to step 4.
- Check the following:
- If the headphones are connected via Bluetooth
- If the noise occurs with your voice, the ambient sound may have been the cause. Try speaking louder, or use the Linkbuds in a quieter place.
- If you use the computer's built-in microphone, the noise may be heard with your voice. For details on how to change the computer's settings, refer to the There is no sound or the microphone doesn't work when the headphones are connected to a computer article.
- If the noise occurs with another person's voice, the network communication may be unstable. Use the Linkbuds near the computer to reduce the interference.
- If the headphones are connected via USB transceiver (For LinkBuds UC only)
- Disconnect the USB transceiver, and connect it to a different computer port.
- Move any device or cable supporting USB 3.0 away from the USB transceiver.
- Remove all other USB devices and USB cables from the computer, if possible.
- Remove all other USB devices and USB cables from the computer, if possible.
- Place the headphones and the USB transceiver close together.
- Close unnecessary software, or restart the computer.
- The issue is resolved
- The ambient sound, or the computer's settings may have been the cause.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to step 5.
- If the headphones are connected via Bluetooth
- Try speaking louder, or use the Linkbuds in a quieter place.
- The issue is resolved
- The ambient sound may have been the cause.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to step 5.
- Set the Linkbuds in the charging case, close the lid, wait for a few seconds, and then wear them again.
- The issue is resolved
- The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction of the Linkbuds.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- Perform the following with the LinkBuds and playback device:
- Restart the connected device.
- Delete the Bluetooth® device information of your playback device.
Refer to the How to delete Bluetooth information from a device article for instructions. - Refer to the appropriate page to pair the devices again:
- For Android™ phones: Pairing and connecting with an Android smartphone
- For iPhone® phones: Pairing and connecting with an iPhone
- For other devices: How to pair Bluetooth headphones with a Bluetooth source device

Reset the Linkbuds.
Watch this video or refer to the Resetting the Linkbuds or page for instructions:
- The issue is resolved
- The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction of the Linkbuds.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- Initialize the LinkBuds and pair them with the playback device again.
- Initialize the Linkbuds.
Note: Initialization returns the Linkbuds to the factory settings and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.Watch this video or refer to the Initializing the LinkBuds to restore factory settings or Initializing the LinkBuds UC to restore factory settings page for instructions:
- Refer to the appropriate article to perform the pairing again:

- The issue is resolved
- The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction of the Linkbuds or the playback device.
- The issue is not resolved
- The Linkbuds may be malfunctioning or require repair.  Go to Product Repair. 
- Initialize the Linkbuds.
