Sony and several other baby monitor product manufacturers have partnered with the Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association (JPMA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in an awareness campaign to promote a safe sleeping environment for children. Baby monitors have electric cords that present a strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers when placed within the child's reach. In an effort to ensure awareness of this potential hazard, Sony is offering free baby monitor product warning labels to affix to the cord of your baby monitor transmitter if it does not already have one. This warning label instructs the user to place the baby monitor cord out of the reach of children, at least three feet away, to prevent a strangulation hazard.
