You might experience issues when using the Backup and Restore functionality in Xperia™ Companion together with the Xperia™ XA/Xperia™ XA Ultra/Xperia™ E5. When selecting the backup and restore option, you might experience that nothing happens for a long time and then the session is timed out. An error message is then displayed, saying Could not back up your Xperia. Please try again. If it still doesn't work, try restarting both your Xperia and this application or Backup error. Some content could not be backed up correctly. Please try again. If it still doesn't work, try restarting both your Xperia and this application. You might also experience that backing up images, videos and music works as expected, but the backing up of all other data types, such as contacts, call logs and messages, may fail.
The solution is to update to the latest software version for your Xperia™ device:
- Xperia™ E5: software version 37.0.x.1.133
- Xperia™ XA: software version 33.2.x.3.81
- Xperia™ XA Ultra: software version 36.0.x.2.109
