Clear data and cache on your Android TV or Google TV when apps aren't working properly

    If the apps on your Android TV™ or Google TV™ don't work properly, try clearing the cache and data to resolve the issue.

    Google TV

    1. On the Home screen, navigate to the Gmail icon and select it.
    2. On the Google TV screen, go to Screen.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select Apps.
    5. Select See all apps.
    6. Scroll down to the app you want to clear data / clear cache.
    7. Select Clear Data or Clear Cache.

    Android TV

    1. Open the Settings menu. The options vary depending on the model year of your TV:
      • Using the Quick Settings button:
        1. On the supplied remote control, press the (Quick Settings) button.
        2. Select Settings.
      • Using the HOME menu button:
        1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
        2. Select Settings.
    2. The next steps depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select AppsSee all appsShow system apps.
      • Select AppsSee all apps.
      • Select Apps.
    3. Select the app to clear cache and data.
    4. Select Clear cache, and then depending on your options, either select OK or press the Enter button.
      • If the issue still occurs, move on to the next step.
    5. Select Clear data, and then depending on your options, either select OK or press the Enter button.
      • if displayed, select CLEAR ALL DATA, and then OK or press the Enter button.
