How to increase or decrease the Hardware Graphics Acceleration.
In the Windows® 8 or 8.1 operating systems, if the graphics card supports Hardware Graphics Acceleration, the feature cannot be increased or decreased, it can only be enabled or disabled. Follow these steps to check if the graphics card supports hardware acceleration, and if so, how to enable or disable the feature.
- Press the Windows Logo + X key combination on the keyboard and, from the list, click Control Panel.
NOTES: Because the Control Panel is a traditional Windows Desktop application, if you were not already there, the interface will change to the Desktop and the Control Panel window will open.
- In the Control Panel window, click Appearance and Personalization.
- In the Appearance and Personalization window, click Display.
- In the Display window, on the left side of the window, click Change Display Settings.
- In the Change Display Settings screen, click Advanced Settings.
- In the Advanced Settings window, click the Troubleshooting tab.
IMPORTANT: If the Troubleshooting tab is not present, then the graphics card does not support the Hardware Graphics Acceleration feature and there is no need to proceed.
- On the Troubleshooting tab, move the Hardware Acceleration slider to Full to enable the feature, and then click the OK button.
- Restart the computer.
