Steps to format the memory card using the camera.

To format a memory card using the camera, follow the steps below.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Formatting the memory card will permanently delete all data stored on it.

NOTE: If the memory card has a Lock switch, make sure it is not in the Lock position as shown in the image below.

1. Insert the memory card into the camera.
2. Turn on the camera.
3. Press the MENU button.
4. Use the control buttons to select SETTINGS or Setup.

   NOTE: For cameras DSCRX1R, DSCRX100, DSCRX100M2 select MEMORY CARD TOOL.

5. Select FORMAT.
