    Before You Start


    Important Notes
    • In order for this update to install correctly, there must be an earlier version of the PC-Link software already installed on the computer.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download & Install


    Download and Installation Instructions
    1. Close all open programs that are running to prevent possible interference with the installation of this update. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the ICDPCLINK122E.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the ICDPCLINK122E.EXE file to begin the installation.
    4. At the "Welcome" screen, click "Next".
    5. At the "Be sure to close all running programs before installing the ICD-PCLINK software" screen, scroll down the list to review the issues resolved by this update. When you are ready to continue, click "Next".
    6. At the "Select Destination Directory" screen, click "Next" to install the update in the default (C:\Program Files\SONY\ICD-PCLINK) directory.
      NOTE: The Destination directory must be the one where the existing version of the PC_LINK software is installed. To select a different installation directory, click the Browse button, navigate to the desired directory, and then click "OK".
    7. At the "Backup Replaced Files" screen, confirm that "Yes" is selected and then click "Next".
    8. At the "Select Backup Directory" screen, click "Next" to copy the files in the default (C:\Program Files\SONY\ICD-PCLINK\BACKUP) directory.
      NOTE: To select a different backup directory, click the Browse button, navigate to the desired directory, and then click "OK".
    9. At the "Select Components" screen, confirm that both "ICD-PCLINK Ver 1.2.2" and "ics-Player Ver 1.1.1" are selected and then click "Next".
    10. At the "Ready to Install!" screen, click "Next" to install the update files.
    11. At the "Installation Completed!" screen, click "Finish".
      NOTE: If it does not do so automatically, please restart the computer.
    After the computer restarts, the installation of the PC-Link™ Software Update Version 1.2.2 is complete.
    Installation Verification (Optional)
    Please follow the steps below to verify that PC-Link™ Software Update Version 1.2.2 was successfully installed.
    1. Using the cable provided, connect the ICD-R100PC to the computer.
    2. Click "Start", point to "Programs", point to the "ICD-PCLINK" folder, and click "ICD-PCLINK".
    3. When the PC-Link "logo" screen appears, verify that "Ver1.2" is displayed.
      NOTE: If the version displayed is not "Ver1.2", download and install the ICD-PCLINK122E.EXE file again.
    4. At the "Please connect IC Recorder" message box, click "OK".
    5. At the "ICD-PCLINK" window, click "Exit".
    6. At the "Disconnect" message box, click "OK". The IC Recorder can now be disconnected from the cable.
