Before You Start


Important Notes
  • The MP3 File Manager application is originally shipped with the Sony® Network Walkman™ NW-S23 and NW-E95 devices. If the following files are installed on your Network Walkman device, you do not need to continue with the installation of this application. Follow these steps to check if the MP3 File Manager application is already installed on your device.

    1. Connect your Network Walkman device to your computer.
    2. In "My Computer", click the Network Walkman drive.
    3. Click the "ESYS" folder and confirm the following filenames and file sizes are displayed.
      • CHNDLL.DLL (48 KB)
      • HELP.HTM (8 KB)
      • MP3FILEMANAGER.EXE (1,744 KB)
    4. If these files are installed on your Network Walkman device, you do not need to continue with the installation of this application. Please consult the MP3 File Manager Help File or Operating Instructions for usage information.
  • This application has system requirements to function properly.
  • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

Download & Install


Download and Installation Instructions
  1. Download the MP3FM11_E95_S23.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Connect your Network Walkman device to the computer with the supplied dedicated USB cable.
  3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the MP3FM11_E95_S23.EXE file to begin the installation.
  4. Click "Next" to go to the next screen, and select "Network Walkman (E:)"(or "Removable Disk (E:)") in the drop-down list box.
    NOTE: The drive letter "(E:)" may vary depending on your environment.
  5. If "Network Walkman (E:)" does not appear in the drop-down list box, disconnect and reconnect the device and then click the "Rescan" button.
  6. Continue to follow the onscreen instructions, and click "Finish" when the installation is complete.

The installation of the MP3 File Manager application is complete.

Confirm a Successful Installation
Follow these steps to confirm the installation of the MP3 File manager application was successful.
  1. Connect your Sony® Network Walkman™ device to your computer.
  2. In "My Computer", click the Network Walkman drive.
  3. Click the "ESYS" folder. If the following files are installed on your Sony ® Network Walkman® device, the installation was successful.
