    Unless stated otherwise, the file listed below must be installed BEFORE the Screensaver in order for it to work properly. If more than one Required file is listed, install them in the order presented on this page.

    Before You Start

    • This update is only for the NW-A1000, NW-A1200, and NW-A3000 Walkman® player with firmware version 3.00.
    • Please follow these steps to confirm the current firmware version on the Walkman® player:
      1. Press and hold the BACK button until the "HOME" menu is indicated.
      2. Press the Up, Down, Left, and Right buttons to select "Settings", and then press Play.
      3. Press Up, and then Down to select "Unit information", and then press Play.
      4. Confirm that the version listed is 3.00.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    System Requirements

    IBM® PC/AT or compatible computer with a standard preinstalled operating system and SonicStage® CONNECT Player software installed.

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the NWWM-SCR.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the NWWM-SCR.EXE file to begin extracting the files.
    4. At the "WinZip Self-Extractor - NWWM-SCR-EXE" box, click the "Unzip" button.
      NOTE: The NWWM-SCR folder is extracted containing four screensaver files.
    5. Click the "Close" button.
    6. Locate and select the unzipped "NWWM-SCR" folder.
    7. On the menu bar, click "Edit", and then click "Copy".
    8. Connect the Walkman® player to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
    9. On the computer, open "My Computer", and then open "Removable Disc (E:)".
      NOTE: The drive letter "(E:)" might be different depending your computer configuration.
    10. On the menu bar, click "Edit", and then click "Paste" to copy the files.
    11. Disconnect the Walkman® player from the computer.

    How to Set the New Screensaver

    1. Press and hold the BACK button until the "HOME" menu is indicated.
    2. Press the Up, Down, Left, and Right buttons to select "Settings", and then press Play.
    3. Press Up, and then Down to select "Screensaver", and then press Play.
    4. Press Up, and then Down to select "Available", and then press Play.
    5. Press Up, Down, Left, and Right to select the desired screensaver, and then press Play.

    NOTE: If the Walkman® player is initialized (formatted), all content including the "NWWM-SCR" folder and the copied Screensaver files will be erased. Please back up all data onto your computer hard drive before initializing (formatting) the unit.
