    This software (ImageDirector version 3.1) allows you to use a computer connected to the projector to adjust the projectors gamma value to your preference and provides a feature that allows you to adjust the gamma value in more detail by selecting any point on the gamma curve.

    Before You Start

    Important Notes

    • If you already have a version of ImageDirector installed, it is necessary to quit the existing ImageDirector program and uninstall it before installing the latest software.
    • Important: You cannot reset the projector's gamma value to the default settings without using ImageDirector. If you used ImageDirector to adjust the projector's gamma value and you want to reset the gamma value back to the default settings, please do so before you uninstall the current application.
    • Additional information about the ImageDirector software is available within the application by selecting the "Help(H)" option on the menu.
    • Do not operate the projector during communication with the computer. This may cause the gamma value stored in the projector to be corrupted.
    • During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

    How to uninstall the current version of the ImageDirector software

    • For Microsoft® Windows Vista® or Windows® 7 operating system:
    1. Click the "Start" icon, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Add or Remove Programs" or "Uninstall a Program".
    2. Select "ImageDirector3" from the list and click "Remove" or "Uninstall".
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the ImageDirector software.
    • For Windows XP operating system:
    1. Click the "Start" icon, click "Control Panel", and then click "Programs and Features".
    2. At the "Uninstall or Change a program" screen, select "ImageDirector3" from the list and click "Uninstall".
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the ImageDirector software.

    This software requires a computer meeting the following system requirements:
    Note The ImageDirector software may not work on some computers even though they meet the requirements.

    • One of the following Microsoft® Windows® operating systems:
      • Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit editions (Service Pack 1 or later)
      • Windows Vista® 32-bit and 64-bit editions (Service Pack 2 or later)
      • Windows XP Home Edition/Professional (with Service Pack 3 or later)
    • Hard disk space: 50 MB or above of free space (100 MB or above recommended)
    • Memory (RAM): 64 MB or above (256 MB or above recommended)
    • CPU: MMX Pentium® 166 MHz or above (Pentium III 1 GHz or above recommended)
    • Screen resolution: SVGA (800 x 600 dots) or above (65536 colors or above)
    • One of the following computer components and cables are required to connect the projector to a computer:
      • USB port and USB cable
      • Network/LAN port and LAN cable
      • RS-232C serial port and D-sub 9-pin cross (reverse) cable

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. Download the ImageDirector.zip file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference) on your computer.
    2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and extract the files/folders from the ImageDirector.zip file.
      • For Microsoft® Windows Vista® or Windows® 7 operating system:
        1. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and right-click the ImageDirector.zip file, and then click "Extract All.
        2. At the "Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders" window, click "Extract"
        3. A new folder will be created called "ImageDirector"
      • For Windows XP operating system:
        1. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and right-click the ImageDirector.zip file, and then click "Extract All.
        2. At the "Extraction Wizard" dialog box, click "Next".
        3. Click "Next".
        4. Click "Finish".
        5. A new folder will be created called "ImageDirector"
    3. Install the software:
      • Run the Id_Inst.exe file directly from your computer to install the software:
        1. Go to the "ImageDirector" folder and double-click to open.
        2. Double-click the "Id_Inst.exe" file to begin the installation.
        3. If the "User Account Control" screen appears, click "Yes" or "Continue".
        4. At the "ImageDirector" screen, click the "Install" button.
        5. At the "Choose Setup Language" screen, click "OK".
        6. At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ImageDirector3" screen, click "Next".
        7. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, select "I accept the terms of the license agreement", and then click "Next" to continue.
        8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
