IMPORTANT: This update is available only by performing a Network Upgrade.
This utility updates the SRS-X9 Personal Audio System firmware to version 2.11.2.10 and provides the following changes and benefits:
Improvements over version 2.11.2.06:
- IMPORTANT: This firmware update must be performed in order to keep using the Spotify® music distribution service.
Benefits provided by previous updates and included in version 2.11.2.10:
- Cannot play specific music downloaded from the Music Unlimited service
- Cannot play certain music service or List acquisition failed. Please select again is displayed on the screen of Music Center (SongPal)
- Cannot connect with a wireless router under WPA2 security with the Music Center application for iOS
- If the Personal Audio System is operated immediately after starting Music Center through connection of the Music Center application for iOS, the operation will no longer be reflected in Music Center.
- Adds support for the Deezer music service
- Adds support for the TuneIn music service
- Adds the capability to confirm the software version for the Personal Audio System in the Other menu in Music Center.

IMPORTANT: The firmware can only be upgraded by performing a Network Update.
- Follow the update instructions carefully.
- If you have not done so already, please check the current Software Version to determine if this firmware upgrade is needed for your SRS-X9 Personal Audio System.
- To perform the update, it is necessary to have the SRS-X9 Personal Audio System correctly connected to an active Internet connection.
- WARNING!
- Do not operate, power off, or disconnect the SRS-X9 Personal Audio System from the AC power outlet until after the update is complete.
- Failure to follow the instructions may interrupt the upgrade process and may cause the system to be unresponsive or to require repair.
- Contact our Support team if you need assistance with the upgrade.
Check the Firmware Version of the SRS-X9 Personal Audio System
- Make sure the speaker is conneted to a computer with a LAN cable (not supplied).
- Note: Make sure the NETWORK OFF/ON switch on the rear of the unit is set to ON.
- Connect the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC adaptor (supplied).
- Press
to turn the speaker power on.
- Wait until the LINK indicator stops flashing and stays lit in orange.
- Launch an internet browser.
- Enter the following URL in the address bar to display the Sony Network Device Setting screen on your computer: http://169.254.1.1
- Select the language from Language Setup, if it is displayed.
- The software version currently installed on the Personal Audio System will be listed on the System Software Version in the Device Details menu.
- If the version number is 2.13.2.10 or higher, you do not need this update.
- If the version number is lower than 2.13.2.10, you should install this update.

Network Update Installation Instructions
Note: The firmware upgrade process usually takes about 10 minutes, depending on system configuration and network connection.
- Connect the Personal Audio System to an internet connection using one of the following methods:
- Via a wired network.
- Via a WiFi network using a computer connected with a LAN cable.
- Via a Wi-Fi network using the WPS button of a wireless router.
- Via a Wi-Fi network using a computer connected wirelessly (Windows 8 UI).
- Via a Wi-Fi network using a computer connected wirelessly (Windows 7 or Windows 8).
- Via a Wi-Fi network using a computer connected wirelessly (Windows Vista).
- Via a Wi-Fi network using a Mac computer connected wirelessly.
- If the speaker is powered on, press
(on/standby)to turn the speaker power off.
Note: The network update process requires the speaker be connected to an AC outlet via the AC adaptor. - Press
to turn the speaker power on.
- Wait until the LINK indicator stops flashing and stays lit in green or orange. When a software update is available, the UPDATE button lights up.
- Tap and hold the UPDATE button until beeps are heard. When the latest software update starts, the UPDATE button flashes.Note: The speaker is not operational while the system is updating.
- The UPDATE button changes the blinking interval and condition according to the update progress.
- The UPDATE button turns off and the speaker switches to standby mode or BLUETOOTH/Network standby mode automatically after the update is complete.
- Check the current software version to confirm that the update has successfully installed.
- If the version number is 2.13.2.10, the update has successfully installed.
- If the version number is lower than 2.13.2.10, attempt to install the update again.

Troubleshooting for the Network Update
