The list below provides common camcorder error codes, their causes, and possible solutions.

- Try to use a different recording media.
- If you have a DVD camcorder:
- The disc may be dirty or have scratches. Clean the disc with a soft cleaning cloth.
- Use a Sony® disc or disc with a for Handycam or
( for VIDEO CAMERA ) mark, which has surface protection and high-efficiency coating to protect its recording surface.
- If you're using a memory card:

- If you're using a tape based camcorder, try another tape.
- Perform a factory reset .

- Perform a power reset on the camcorder.
- Turn off the camcorder.

- Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
- Back up the data from the camcorder on a computer.
- Format the camcorder hard drive.
- Perform a factory reset .

- Remove the battery and disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
- Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
- Back up the data from the memory card on a computer.
- Format the memory card using the camcorder.
- Perform a factory reset .
