- The mobile phone and audio device compatibility presented in this document is validated under certain conditions, including the device specification at the time of testing.
- Be sure to refer to the manual or vendor of each device for assistance in the operation/setup with the PHA-2.
- It may be necessary to update your device software, firmware or OS to the latest version for compatibility.
- A USB cable (Mini USB plug/USB standard-A plug) and a USB conversion cable (USB micro-B plug/ USB standard-A socket) that is marketed as an OTG cable or host cable is required to make a digital connection between the PHA-2 and a smartphone.
- Use the supplied audio cable (sterao mini cable) to make an analog connection

- If there is no sound, please disconnect and reconnect the cable.
- When using the Android 4.4.2 OS, it is necessary to change the settings on your Xperia mobile phone for music playback.
- On the Xperia Z2 - Go to Audio settings and select Hi-Res Audio via USB.
- On the Xperia Z3 - Go to Settings, select Sound, select Audio settings and select Hi-Res Audio via USB.
- When using a phone that is not listed above, refer to the user guide for the phone.
- It is necessary to update to the PHA-2 to latest firmware version. Update the firmware now.
Sony Walkman players and Sony Tablets
Digital and Analog Connections
- Digtial Connection with a Walkman Player: Requires the digital cable for WALKMAN (WM-PORT equipped), which is supplied with the PHA-2.
- Analog Connection with a Walkman Player: Use the supplied headphone cable.
- Digtial Connection with an Xperia Tablet: Requires A USB cable (Mini USB plug/USB standard-A plug) and a USB conversion cable (USB micro-B plug/ USB standard-A socket) that is marketed as an OTG cable or host cable.

- When using the Android 4.4.2 OS, it is necessary to change the settings on your Xperia mobile phone for music playback.
- On the Xperia Z2 Tablet- Go to Audio settings and select Hi-Res Audio via USB.
- On the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact- Go to Settings, select Sound, select Audio settings and select Hi-Res Audio via USB.
- When using an Android OS of 5.0 or higher, the above settings do not apply.
- Update Android to version 4.4.4 or higher.
- The Xperia uses linear PCM to convert the music output.
Compatible iPad. iPod & iPhone devices
Connect the headphone amplifier to an iPhone/iPad/iPod using the USB cable supplied with your iPhone/iPad/iPod.
For an analog connection, use the supplied headphone cable.
Operation for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus was checked by Sony, however, not all operations are guaranteed.
