The Intervideo WinDVD for VAIO software update fails to install because it requires the original version.

If you are trying to install the Intervideo WinDVD® for VAIO® software from the Sony® eSupport website, you may receive an error stating the file is an update and the original software must be installed.
This may occur because you performed a clean install of the Windows® 7 operating system on a computer that came with the Windows Vista® operating system. To resolve the issue, reinstall the original operating system and bundled software using the VAIO Recovery software and then upgrade to the Windows 7 operating system. The original version of the Intervideo WinDVD for VAIO software will remain installed and you will be able to perform the update.
