Coronavirus (COVID-19): Playback problems with Video Streaming Services content

    Internet usage continues to increase worldwide as a result of the societal restrictions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

    To help reduce system load, some third party video streaming services have announced plans to lower the video quality of their streaming content.  Due to this, you may experience issues such as video stuttering, sync issues, and 4K or High Resolution content playing in standard resolution (SD).

    Please note that our BRAVIA™ televisions and Blu-ray Disc™ players present videos based on the resolution delivered by the video streaming services, so any changes in delivered video content quality is not a malfunction of your device or something we can affect.  It is recommended that you periodically check with your video streaming service for the latest information on their plans for video content delivery. 

    Note: If you are using a wireless internet connection, another option is to use a wired (cable) connection from your device to your router or modem to optimize bandwidth usage.
