What type of HDMI cable should I use to connect my soundbar or home theater system to the TV?

    To achieve the best audio experience with your soundbar or home theater system, it is essential to select the correct HDMI™ cable. The type of cable you use affects audio quality, especially when working with advanced audio formats and modern connectivity features like eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel).

    Note: It is highly recomended you use the HDMI cable that comes with your soundbar or home theater system.

    Here's what you need to know about HDMI cable options and their capabilities. If you don't have an HDMI cable, we recommend using one of the following options:

    • Premium High Speed HDMI Cable
      • Supports 18 Gbps transmission
      • Sold separately by Sony or commercially available
    • Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
      • Supports 48 Gbps transmission
      • Commercially available

    While Standard or High Speed HDMI cables can transmit audio, limitations or a decrease in audio quality may occur if you connect a soundbar or home theater system to a playback device that supports eARC, and you want to play high-quality audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio, etc.
