I cannot get the BRAVIA Sync function to work with my TV and sound bar.

If you are not able to get the BRAVIA Theater Sync function working, there may be an incorrect setting or there may be a problem with your hookup. Follow these steps to try to resolve this issue:

IMPORTANT: Not all devices with an HDMI® connection have the BRAVIA Sync feature. Consult the instruction manual for the devices you are trying to control to confirm whether or not BRAVIA Sync is available.

NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the status of the BRAVIA Sync function after completing each step.

    1. If you are using a power strip, make sure that any of your components that are part of the Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) system are plugged into either a regular power strip or a power strip that has a constant power section.

NOTE: Some of the newer power strips, such as the new green power strips, interfere with CEC operation and will completely cut off power to any connected devices.

    2. Make sure all connected components are compatible with the Control for HDMI function.

NOTE: The function will not work if all of the HDMI-connected products do not have the BRAVIA Sync feature.

    3. Verify that the HDMI connections are secure and accurate.
    4. The system may not work correctly if you select a component that is not compatible with the Control for HDMI function on the TV side.

NOTE: Some TVs with multiple HDMI inputs, require that a specific HDMI input be used for the BRAVIA Sync feature to work. Refer to the manual of the TV for additional information.

    5. Check the Control for HDMI settings on the connected components. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with that component for verification.
    6. Make sure that DVD CTRL, SAT CTRL or DMPORT CTRL is set to ON in the AMP menu.

    • Sony products with BRAVIA Sync use the CEC protocol.
    • Sony products manufactured in 2006 and prior do not have this feature.
