Manage or hide ads and personalized content recommendations on the Home menu of your TV
Google now displays Content Highlights and Ads on your home screen prior to making a content or input selection.
On the home screen, you'll see suggested movies, shows, and quick trailers to help you discover something new to watch as well as non-media ads.

What determines which content recommendations and ads will appear?

Can I get suggestions from my apps?
Yes. For information, visit the Android TV Help page on the Google website and look for the Suggested shows & movies section.
Can I remove these suggestions?
If you have an Android TV model, the suggestions cannot be removed. However, for Google TV models, activating the Apps only mode will hide recommendations. Follow the steps in the Hide personalized recommendations on Google TV article to activate it.
Here are examples of the Home screen in Google TV and Apps only modes:
- Google TV mode with recommendations
- Apps only mode without recommendations
Note: The Google Assistant function will not be available when the TV is in the Apps only mode.
