How to play a Dolby Atmos audio using a Multi Channel AV receiver or Soundbar

    You'll need the following to enjoy Blu-ray Disc™ media or streaming services in Dolby Atmos® audio format using a Multi Channel AV receiver or Soundbar:

    • A ceiling speaker or Soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos
      • Make sure the Soundbar software is updated to the latest version. To get the latest update, go to the .
    • A Premium High-Speed HDMI® cable with ethernet
    • A Blu-ray Disc player and Blu-ray Discs that are compatible with Dolby Atmos

    Steps to connect and play content in Dolby Atmos format

    1. Connect your devices to play Dolby Atmos format

      Connecting a multi-channel A/V receiver or Soundbar to the Blu-ray Disc player and the TV using an HDMI (eARC) connection.

      Connecting a multi-channel A/V receiver or Soundbar to a Blu-ray Disc player and a TV that doesn't support Dolby Atmos or HDMI (eARC)

    2. Adjust the settings on these devices depending on your setup:

      Multi-channel A/V receiver

      Blu-ray Disc player

    3. From the Blu-ray Disc menu, choose the sound or language setting for Dolby Atmos.

      • The options to set the audio format depend on the disc. Check the documents supplied with the disc for more information.

    Playing Dolby Atmos content from a TV network streaming service (such as Netflix®)

    To play Dolby Atmos content from a TV network streaming service, check the following:

    • Verify that your TV supports Dolby Atmos. Check your TV manuals for additional information.
    • Verify that your network streaming service membership supports Dolby Atmos content.
    • Make sure Dolby Atmos is enabled for your TV's audio output.
    • Select content that supports Dolby Atmos. You should see a Dolby Atmos icon next to the content description.
    • Select the audio or language which supports Dolby Atmos in the audio option.

    Note: Sony Blu-ray Disc players don't support network streaming services in the Dolby Atmos format.
