My TV doesn't have a picture or displays a NO SIGNAL message
There are many reasons your TV may not display a picture or receive a signal. This information is provided to help you identify the cause and resolve the issue.
Note: Check if your TV operates normally after completing each step. Refer to the supplied
manuals
for model-specific information.
- If your TV is on and connected to satellite receiver, cable box, or another video device (DVD, Blu-ray Disc™ player), make sure the connected device is turned on and not in standby mode.
- Make sure your TV input is properly set to the correct input device. Additional information is provided for switching video inputs on your TV.
Note: Some older equipment may use a coax cable connection directly to your TV using the built-in tuner set to a base channel of 3 or 4. This setup is rarely use and was a common setup with a VCR. After your TV displays a signal, use the remote control of the connected device to display the video.
- Check the cable connections between the TV and your video device or receiver.
- Change the channel or try a different input device or movie.
- The received signal may be weak.
- If your TV uses a cable or satellite box, you may need to contact your service provider for further assistance in improving the signal strength.
- If your TV uses an over-the-air antenna, you may need to adjust the antenna to improve the signal quality.
- If your TV is using the built-in tuner with direct cable or an over-the-air antenna, try rescanning for active channels. Skip this step if you are using a cable box or satellite receiver.
- Your TV may not display a picture if the indicator LED is blinking..
