How to use Google Assistant on your headphones

Integrating Google Assistant with compatible headphones lets you control your music, access information, and manage notifications using voice commands. This guide will help you get started with this convenient hands-free feature.

Before you start

To use Google Assistant, you will need the following:

• Headphones that support Google Assistant
  • Check the Applicable Products and Categories section to confirm if your headphones support Google Assistant.
  • Update the headphones software to the latest version. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
• The Sony | Sound Connect app with the newest version installed.
  Install the latest version from the Google Play Store.
• Smartphone that supports the Google Assistant app. 
  Install the latest version from the Google Play Store.

Note: Due to changes Google made to the Google Assistant feature on December 7, 2021, linking headphones to the Google Assistant app for iOS  will not be available.
