Set up the Google Assistant for wireless headphones

    Change the function of the headphone button and configure the intitial settings for the Google Assistant when using the Google Assistant feature for the first time.

    Before you start

    To use Google Assistant on your headphones, you will need the following:

    • Headphones that support Google Assistant.
      • Check the Applicable Products and Categories section to confirm if your headphones support Google Assistant.
      • Update the headphones software to the latest version.
    • The Sony | Headphones Connect app with the latest version installed.
    • Smartphone that supports the Google Assistant app.

    Steps to set up the Google Assistant

    The button name varies depending on the model. If model-specific information is required to complete any step, check your manual.

    1. On your mobile device, start the Sony | Headphones Connect app.
    2. Make sure you headphones are on, and then tap Connect.
    3. This step may vary depending on your model number.
      • Scroll down and tap Change function of NC/AMBIENT button or Change function of left side button setting.
      • Scroll down to Change function of [CUSTOM] button, and then tap Settings.
    4. Change the setting to Google Assistant.
    5. Set up the Google Assistant app according to your device type.
      • Android mobile devices
        1. Press and hold the home button.
          • Google Assistant starts.
        2. Tap Finish headphones setup.

        3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
      • iOS mobile devices
        1. Start the Google Assistant app.
        2. Tap Finish headphones setup.

        3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
