I strongly say dont buy a sony tv i did via best buy worked for about 6 months then started have major issues called sony got a non stop run around till the warranty went out and they turned around with sorry its out of warranty totally left me hang on a 1200 tv ive filled with ftc on this matter because its wrong and there is enough evidence collected to show proof of calls and issues

Needs Retuning every six months

This TV has a an ITV picture which keeps breaking up. This happened soon after purchase and the dealer told us to re-tune the TV. This we did and sure enough the breaking up stopped. But only for a while. We have had the same problem several times and re-tuning solves it. Why does this TV need to be retuned regularly? There are other TVs in the house which do not need regular retuning>

The reason might differ depending on your TV provider tools (Satellite, Cable, set-top box or CAM module), some sources regularly update the TV channel list (usually at night) causing some of the channels to go missing or breaking.

Dead wifi function.

My WiFi stopped working. Sony refused my service request and told me to just use casting function or Hotspot from another device. After owning this TV for only 6 months. Don't purchase this or any model tv from Sony. Samsung for me next time.

I bought it 2 and a half years ago. At first everything was fine, after a year and a half light spots appeared on the screen, which are especially visible on very light or very dark scenes. Unfortunately the warranty is only for 1 year.

1- Set the picture mode to Standard, please go to settings > display and sound > picture > picture mode > standard
2- Reduce the backlight level, you can do this by going to settings > display and sound > picture > backlight level
3- Change the power saving to low or high, while in settings go to system > power and energy > power saving > low/high

I originally purchased this TV because it has direct LED light which means the LEDs are directly behind the screen instead of being directionally shown from the bottom up which honestly sold me on the TV's technology.. there are a multitude of options that if you wish you can engage and experiment with. I find that the Dolby vision and the Dolby Atmos are too key elements that allow you to be immersed into what you are viewing. I have the 55-in model and a bedroom with a higher-end polk audio sound bar and from old movies to new movies with Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos every viewing experience is quite impressive. The 240 hz adaptive refresh technology is quite renowned when experiencing football games or high action films it flawlessly engages and disengages on the fly never while never noticing it. In closing once all the movie applications like Hulu and peacock and Netflix catch up with technology and All utilize true Dolby vision and true Dolby Atmos I believe it will change the industry but for now there are a lot of apps that are having problems and that is unfortunate for them.

Picture Has poor Blacks

I bought this TV to Replace my 14 year old 240Hz XBR TV that quit working. It has very poor contrast and Black performance. The blacks and back-rounds are not black but a dark gray. I am not satisfied with that, however I did not take the unit back. It does have good things like it is real easy to use and some pictures are clear and bright.

Bought this TV thinking It would be better than a Roku and let me tell you I was wrong. This TV freezes a lot and the picture is basic like any other TV. This was so expensive and I regret it, unfortunately I can’t return it so I’m stuck with. Sony Bravia has let me down.

Not happy with my purchase

I’m not very happy with this TV. My last TV was the same brand and it worked great for many years. The picture is distorted especially fast movements, only wide display that makes some of the pictures not centered and very stretched. The wide display cannot be changed as other features are unavailable.I have a hard time watching cable TV. It can’t find my cable box. It starts fine and after a few minutes it turns itself off. Very disappointing.

You can actually set up the TV as a "basic TV" to disable the Google TV feature. You can find the "Set up basic TV" option during the initial setup. By selecting basic TV, you can watch TV programs via your indoor/outdoor antenna or cable set-top box and use the TV inputs for external devices. However, certain Google TV functions that require an internet connection, such as software updates, applications, Google Voice Search, Chromecast built-in™/AirPlay, internet browsing, and adding your Google™ account, will not be available. horrible light intrusion around the edges ruins it

When the tv is showing dark/black content, like movies and shows in letterbox (so basically everything) there is terrible white light intrusion at 3 of the 4 corners that ruins an otherwise nice TV. Different reps at Sony have told me this is absolutely a defect and then alternately it's totally normal. Ultimately it was for some reason impossible to contact the reps via phone regarding the disposition of the case regarding my issue and they refused to communicate further via email so I gave up. Absolutely would not buy again.

This is not the experience that we want you to have. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. The LCD screen is made with high-precision technology to achieve a high level of performance and picture quality. To achieve this level of performance, the backlight setting of the TV is set to maximize the screen brightness. However, you may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV.

If you should find this affects your enjoyment, here are few adjustments that you can do to minimize this condition. We hope you already tried these steps to help improve your experience with the TV.

Note: Some TVs may not have some of the procedures below. If model-specific information is required to complete any of the steps, refer to your TV's manual.

-Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.
-Turn the Light Sensor setting to On in the Setup menu.
-Change the Power Saving setting to Low or High in the Setup menu.
-Set the Picture Mode to Standard in the Settings menu.

A nice TV ruined by horrible Wi-Fi connectivity. Nice picture, decent sound, easy setup, but the Wi-Fi refuses to stay connected to the network and is almost impossible to reconnect. I was able to resolve the issue by adding an external streaming box to HDMI which we use exclusively now, which leaves all of the TV’s smart capabilities irrelevant. Also, the VESA mounting holes are not centered and sit lower on the back of the TV - something to consider when placing your wall mount.

I chose this TV because my workplace uses them in their classrooms plus it suits my Sony PS5 and Xbox series X plus my Sky stream the pictures on this tv is outstanding, the sound on it’s speaks is very good I use my surround sound system via HDMI 3 which controls the amp when you switch tv on the amp comes on automatically with the correct HDMI cable. I am very happy with it, well done Sony!

Fantastic picture quality, great design

Bought this TV a month ago, I’ve seen a lot of higher priced TV’s with lesser picture quality, although I openly admit I’m a long term Sony customer. They never disappoint. My only complaint is the dodgy onboard WiFi, it will disconnect and reconnect each use, with text boxes appearing all of a sudden and hanging around for quite a while while it sorts itself out, which if you’re watching a film is annoying/distracting. There doesn’t appear to be any advice on remedying this either. If I could remove just half a star I would, but as the point of it as a device is to immerse oneself into whatever you’re watching, it’s a big issue for me.

Love my new Sony

My first 4K TV I purchaced at the Sony Store in Houston in 2014. It was a 65" Bravia and it has served me where these last 10 years. It is still going strong, but I wanted a little bigger set for my living room and full support for HDR which the older Sony Bravia did not have. I stuck with Sony and now have this Bravia 85" and it is all I expected it to be from Sony. Smooth integration, quick commands, and Sony qaulity I have come to expect. The remote could do with with a couple of more options as this TV came with a smaller format. Brightness and clarity are great. Beautiful picture. Sound is much better than the older Bravia I had.

Just love Sony

This is my second Bravia and I continue to love the model. It is a breeze to set up and going through the settings to customize/personalize the various features. I also love the ability to modify certain features while watching a movie. Sony has done a great job of making sure to provide the consumer with flexibility to adjust whenever and however he/she wants. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I have to use Google in order to add log in icons for the streaming providers that are included and available in the home screen. Google's constant data collection and constant shoveling of advertisements and sharing of my information keeps me from allowing Google TV to have access to my programming which means now I have to default of Xfinity to log into Apple TV, Max and a few others. Wish Sony would not force the consumer to allow access to Google and like my previous Bravia allow consumers to identify the streaming providers at the home screen and log in as needed. I do not recommend Google but I absolutely recommend Sony.

Great TV beautiful picture

I’m so glad to have made the decision to purchase the Sony. As I usually have always gotten Visio TV’s it was difficult to switch to Sony. I had the tv fora few years and had a problem as it lost the picture, as I called Sony looking to see if there was a way to reset the tv they walked me through the process and unfortunately it didn’t work. So my first thought was well I need to buy a new tv and I wasn’t happy about that outcome. Then to my surprise the service technician pulls up my account by the serial number and proceeded to tell me that my tv was warranted and they would be sending me a brand new tv free of charge. I figured it was going to take a considerable amount of time so when I asked how long it was going to take, as he placed me on hold I’m thinking ok here we go he’s going to come back and tell me it would be 3-4 weeks. Now my problem is I’m a handicapped and bedridden individual so as I have nothing to do all day except watch tv or reed I’m bracing myself and waiting for the bad news. No it went out Sunday night so I called first thing Monday morning so as I wait he comes back and tells me that the model I have was no longer made so he asked me if I would take the new upgraded model? It didn’t take long to think about that so as I told him sure that would be fine he told me well ok it will ship in 2-3 work days. Now he tells me that the freight company will be contacting me when it all set up. I received a call Thursday afternoon and the freight company asked if they could bring it next Wednesday or Thursday between 8 and 5 as I had to be there for them to pick up and box the old one. As I told them that I couldn’t get out of bed to help and I asked if I left the door unlocked if that was ok? As he told me no I new this was going to go or to be true I told him that the weekend was the only time I could have someone around to help he tells me that fine is 1-5 ok I tell him that will work and set it up. As my son wasn’t happy about it as he says dad I’ll have to wait around all day. They then call me Friday night and the driver asks how early he could come, I said anytime after eight. He showed up at 8:15. My son had it put up by ten. Now for the tv it’s great it has the best picture and so many options I’ll probably never us half of them but I couldn’t be happier that I went with Sony. As everything was so easy and simple and they were the best and easiest and a pure pleasure to deal with I’m now sold on this product. I want to give a special thanks to my service tec as he was very nice and helpful.
