I wanted the most technology available in a 43" TV and that led me to KV43X85J. The head-on picture quality is top of the line. However, as I start going to the left and the right of the TV an amazing thing happens. The picture turns into soft pastels and it looks like I'm watching the TV through a sheer curtain. The dealer that I bought the TV from said that the X85J series by Sony has that issue and except the picture. Which I have.

I made a great choice when I chose this tv for my living room. My family and I love the quality of the screen and the tv itself, and I also love how easy it was to setup and use all of its features- which are a lot. Sony is definitely the way to go when choosing my electronics.

My personnel opinion is the u.i is far to compicated compared to there earlier models far to complicated to set the tv up slow connectivity and i found the picture ok but not as good as you would expect and the sound was ok.Compared to my KD-49XG7073 it just doesn not campare .Which im sorry about as i love sony products

Not happy with it

I bought this a couple weeks ago not happy at all it drops local channels and drops sound a lot won't since to my Samsung sound bar woofer have to use 2 controllers. Wish I could return it for a refund

I’ve been wanting a nice TV for a long time for gaming I’m tired of using monitors I just think TVs look better I finally got a high-end TV and I can’t go back I absolutely love this it’s my first Sony TV usually have a Samsung but Sony seems to be the way to go the interface is awesome the picture quality is absolutely fantastic the features are amazing I’m very happy I would love to try one of their phones to go with their TV but right now I have an iPhone

Stunning colours

We bought the Sony X95J 55' a month ago to replace our older model. We're very pleased we it, the colours and contrast is stunning. The sound adjusts to the content on the TV as does the contrast. The operation function is simple to use its vert fast and responsive to commands and easy to locate networks or whatever you're looking for. You can download any apps you want from Google. Fantastic TV in our view.

We've had other brands but Sony TV is always the best quality picture. In a bright room (lots of windows) we don't get the glare like other brands get on their screens. We're very happy with this X85J/ 4K and hope to have it many years!

Overly Complicated.

Setup is overly complicated and takes too long. Still haven’t figured out how to tie to Alexia or why it wants to act as an Apple TV.

Setup can usually be completed by following the on-screen instructions. If something appears on the TV screen that isn't included in these instructions, follow the on-screen instructions.

This tv is the third tv I tried in a week. I was trying to get a cheaper tv . That was a mistake. Sony is a quality tv that has a lot better picture and adjustments than all the others that I tried.

Great but no instructions and complex to set up

This was a nightmare to set up. After spending hours on it the day after registering I got an email with instructions- there should at least be a QR code link The assistant in shop was fantastic and tried all makes and concluded no britbox so I bought a Roku stick. There were no apps like iplayer pre installed but when I updated the software these and britbox appeared You get 3 months Apple TV but I only found from a later email! The remote feels cheaply made The picture is great especially for wildfire but it took me a while to work out the apparently blurry picture is actually because the characters are highlighted and background less clear. and it therefore looks more 3D

Haven't had a Sony TV in a few years but loved my old CRT stereo unit and know the quality. Wanted the quick refresh rate and this was the best option. This smart TV replaced a Fire Stick and SO glad I did. Much quicker response time with this than the Fire Stick. Nice to have it all integrated. I did add a swivel base to mine and it's fantastic! (PerleGear on Amazon.) Great ergonomics on the remote! Volume falls just where it should in the hand--don't ever have to look. Setup a little difficult but their phone customer service guy was excellent. Recommend.

The TV is worth to the money you pay definitely! good quality of screen, it connects to wifi really quick and the menu is well organised. The only thing I could complain is the tickness, but it's not a big issue! SONY does this job very well!

Great TV at a reasonable price

Replaced on old plasma TV that I really liked, but lacked some of the connections and I wanted to go a little larger. The Sony looks great, connects up well with everything - 4K content looks terrific and colors outstanding out of the box. Other similar TV from a different manufacturer required many adjustments. Really like the option to have picture setting change based on source. Like many new flat screens, the sound is so-so, but works well with my AVR.
