Fantastic picture and sound

Have had this tv for two weeks so feel able to give a balanced review of its features. Firstly it was very easy to set up with guided steps through the process it took about twenty minutes to be up and working. The sound quality is excellent and this is something you cannot test in a store location so I was very pleased with that, a friend turned up recently and asked if we had a sound bar as he thought the sound was so good. Picture quality is very good from whatever angle the screen is watched and HD is even better. Haven’t got Ultra HD so cannot comment on that. Overall I am extremely pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend the TV

I bought this tv because i will be able to download apps from play store but unfortunately i can’t.I use to have disney + and then i was asked to update it which never worked.So my kids can’t even enjoy disney+ because it’s unavailable..I’m in the uk .

Before you give up on the unit, please try these three steps to see if we can get your remote and TV communicating properly again:

1- Fresh Batteries: Ensure you are using a brand-new set of high-quality alkaline batteries. Even if the current ones seem okay, low voltage can cause the remote to "drop" its pairing frequently.

2- Power Reset: Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet. Leave it unplugged for a full 2 minutes to allow the internal capacitors to discharge completely, then plug it back in.

3- Software Update: Your remote actually has its own firmware. Navigate to: Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Remote control > Software update to ensure it’s running the latest version.

Only lasted 2 years of light use.

Bought this TV with the expectation it would be a quality product like all my other Sony products. It was, while it was in warranty. 1 month after its warranty the screen is backlit a very dull blue and will no longer display anything. Contacted Sony and there is nothing they will do.

While the manufacturer's warranty has passed, we recommend performing a power reset by unplugging the TV for two minutes and checking if the "Picture Off" setting was accidentally enabled. Since you're seeing a blue backlight, it may also be worth checking your HDMI connections or trying a different source to rule out external hardware. I purchased this tv based on recommendations from Best Buy employees that best suited my budget and needs. I purchased the tv 4/21/2024 and on 9/6/2025 the tv was intermittent flashing on and off and developed white lines through the tv. I went through there digital support process and the next day when I called support they made me reduce the process. After all said and done I was told that it was out of warranty by 5 months and that they could only recomend a service technician to come out and fix but on my dime but the funny part is they never sent me the info to there recommended service technician so I bought a new (different brand) tv due to my dissatisfaction with how Sony support was unhelpful and how they did not back there product.

Dead pixel 6 months after warranty expires

Dark spots after just 2 years

This was supposed to be cutting edge technology? You must be joking. Dark spots began to appear after 2 years. TV was not mishandled in any way. Has been in the same spot since delivery. Last Sony product we ever buy. This purchased was absolutely a complete waste of money. Sony should be ashamed to put out such poor quality product.

Sudden shutdown and failure to turn on

Hello I bought this TV about 2 years ago, but recently I have had a problem where the TV won't turn on, and when I unplug it and plug it back in, it goes to the Google logo stage and then turns off. I spoke to the repairman and they said the motherboard needs to be replaced, which is really worrying.

Hi there, we are truly sorry to hear that your KD75X85K is not turning on. We understand how frustrating this can be, here are some steps and recommendations you can try:
1- Disconnect all external devices from the back of the TV
2- Try a different power source and connect the TV directly to an outlet
3- Perform a Force Factory Data Reset, just be aware this will delete everything and take the set to factory settings. Here are the steps to start the process:

- Unplug the TV from the power
- Press and hold down the power button on the TV (underneath the unit in the middle)
- While holding down the power button you need to plug the TV back in, and wait until you see a screen that says "erasing", when the message appears, you can release the power button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Bad TV

Bought this TV on 11/12/22! Went out on 2/6/25. This is how long this TV lasted! Probably has 1000 hours or less and it was just a bedroom TV. Went through the process in getting it to come on but nothing worked and now I have to buy another one or get this fixed but it’s going to cost me as much as paid for it! Sony the one and Only for me!

I bought this three weeks ago only to find out it was a $100.00 cheaper at Walmart and they would price match or offer a reduction or gift card . They said I can box it up and return and then repurchase. That was the dumbest thing I have ever heard . Now the TV is excellent in my opinion it’s my second Sony led tv. I had the 65 inch of this model and now I have the 75 inch as well . It has an amazing picture,the sound is even good from the tv only , but my 65 inch has the Sony sound bar and subwoofer in the living room . My man cave has the 75 since my wife has taken over 65 in the living room . My old Sony 42 inch lcd tv from 2012 is still kicking . I gave it to my nephew who is a gamer he loves it !

I opted for this Sony over the competition and regret that decision. This set came "equipped" with an electronic glitch that required two trips back to the dealer before Sony finally replaced the Master Board. I will never be happy with this set. Just waiting for it to fail again.

Optical cable soundbar

I bought this instead of Samsung because of the optical cable to connect to my soundbar, although it's connected to my soundbar, I can't control the volume with the TV remote 🤦🏾 Also the free movies offered by Sony are difficult to locate, it only offers paid for movies. Apart from these, the TV is beautiful ❤️

I bought a Sony Bravia KD-85X85K in August of 2024. Overall I was pretty happy with it until Sept 2024 rolled in and I started losing audio on the internal TV speakers. I followed every troubleshooting step to resolve the issue, removed all external connections and reset it to factory default to no avail. I decided to run audio through eArc to my home theater system for a little over a week and surprisingly, the internal speaker miraculously started working. Today, the audio just faded and started to get staic sound. Restarted, cold boooted. to no avail. checked for system updates which it found. After completing the system update. The system still had no audio and it just started shutting down within minutes, the the LED blinks 3 times. Did my research and it appears it is indicative of a system board issue. Basically. it’s toast!! I saw quite a bit of community posts with the same experiences. Really disappointed for a Sony product that only lasts 2 years. I still have my Samsung and Sharp 1st generation LCD TVs in 1080P working with no issues.

Everything works great, and it has an amazing picture. Sony has very good upscale technology and that is important because other then movies not much is broadcast in 4k, so upscale ability is something to keep in mind when buying a tv. It has a 120 hz native panel which you need in 2024. It has a 3.0 tuner built in so you are all set when Next Gen begins. Unfortunately the remote that comes with it is not good, the buttons feel fragile, it feels like it’s going to break, it is not what you expect to get when you purchase a Sony TV. I personally upgraded to the Sony TX621 Remote because it has a backlight, its faceplate is metal, it’s sturdy, the buttons feel strong, the whole remote is sturdy, & It is what you expect to get with a Sony TV purchase. I purchased 3 Bravias before and this is the only one with a bad remote. Sony used to go out of there way using high quality materials on there remotes, and hopefully they will get back to that. The TV is everything you expect from a Sony. I recommend purchasing this model.

The TV has a good picture when viewed from the front. Any angle viewing is distorted. The TV takes a minute or more for the sound to settle down when turned on. I use mine with a 5.1 system which is much better sound that the included speakers. The software is weird. I am still figuring out how to quickly change channels without scrolling through the entire list. Other software features just strike me as peculiar even when I figure out how to use them.

Faulty after 18 months

Bought this 18 months ago and it has been up on the wall since day one. Now getting vertical and horizontal lines across the whole screen. I did not notice about the 5 year warranty if I registered it within the specified time limit. if you are going to offer a 5 year warranty for registration why not just offer a 5 year warranty unconditionally. very dissatisfied with this TV. I expected it to last a reasonable amount of time considering the purchase price.

I wanted to buy a TV which wasn't OLED but with OLED picture quality and I chose Sony X85K 42". After using it for only 15 minutes I am glad I chose this model. It has OLED color and contrast plus handles color gradiation better than most OLED models. I have OLED monitors and can honestly say this Sony is comparable with picture quality and contrast and better in brightness and is truly flicker free so its easy on the eyes. Great value for the money.

Poor picture.

Blacks are pitiful especially night time scenes. It looks like it is foggy or raining or snowing. Also, the colors look washed out from even a slight angle. While I'm complaining, the features such as turning on external speakers and turning on the cable box only work intermittently. The majority of the time I have to use the cable box remote and the speaker remote.

I used to have a Sony bravia 49 inch and it was fantastic, decided to upgrade to a 70 LG which was a disappointment compared to the Sony model, I now have this beast and I'm super happy with it, wish I didn't get the lg now but it's a learning curve, if you want the best for what it is you like then go for it. I love to watch films so this is absolutely amazing for this, superb quality as always Sony delivers 😍🥰😁
