I bought this TV brand new January of 23, it was a 22 model, disappointed with the lifespan of this tv, shadows , dark spots in the middle of the screen, started showing up in April of 26th, I've had Sony's in my house for over 40 years, I think I'll skip Sony on my next purchase in a couple months

Had this TV for 5 years, never damaged it, did one software update and it turned off and never came back on again. No power, nothing. Tested everything. Absolutely NEVER purchasing another Sony again as customer service simply said "outside of warranty and this happens often with our TVs" even though we did nothing wrong with the TV. I get warranties, but I have an 11 year old LG TV that has been through it all and still works. TRUST ME, DON'T BUY FROM SONY.

I purchased this TV in June of 2021. It has given me great service to date, but I will be looking to upgrade soon. I have this TV paired with a Sony HT-A5000 sound bar. This sound is great; however, I would like to have the ability to use Acoustic Center Sync and this TV lacks that feature. Also, this sound bar has the ability to decode DTS X, but once again, this TV doesn't support it. When I purchased this TV back in June of 2021, I remember paying about $1200.00 for it. At that time, I think this was the best 50" you could get. If I upgraded to a 55", I could have all of these features today, but I feel like a 55 is too large for my viewing distance. For about 4 days, I owned the flagship A95L in the 55" variety, but believe it or not, I felt this Bravia beast did not have the same picture quality as the X90J. Sometimes bigger is not always better. Also, right out of the box, the X90J picture settings were perfect for me. I hate tinkering with TV settings and also did not want to mess with the "CALAMN for Bravia" app. I have never once adjusted any picture settings on the X90J. I recently reached out to Sony and recommended that they make a high end 50" with at least the features of the Bravia 7 but would love a Bravia 9. Lastly, if Sony does venture into the high end 50" world, I would like for it to me a Mini LED version.

Leaving this about 2 years later, for the RRP, it was not a purchase that worthed the price. It was acceptable at the beginning, but it is very slow and sluggish now. A Fire TV stick from the same period is faster than this is now. It developed an issue with the Sattelite Tuner.

Bought this 2 years ago. Full Google Home integration is great, excellent with sony devices, now with VRR update to allow for 120hz refresh rate PS5 gameplay. Hta-9 sound system uses a built in integrated menu from this TV, making it a greatly unified hub for Sony products and Google assistant products. Full Array LED is better in the long run vs OLED tv, as you don't have to worry about picture burn in problems or lack of brightness issues that a lot of OLED tvs face. This TV will last longer than those. For the price you cannot beat this.

I was really please with this tv when I first purchased it, picture and sound great but with in 2 years it developed the dreaded (DSE) dirty screen effect, I reported it to Sony who contacted a repair centre near my town, unfortunately DSE cannot be fixed and they arranged for a replacement tv to be delivered, I think the tv was a refurbished one but couldn't say for sure, also the repair company made a complete hash of removing my old tv, they said the power cord was attached internally to the tv which it wasn't and they cut the lead, they also damaged my tv wall bracket, the repair company did cover the cost of the lead when I complained, they didn't cover the cost of the bracket and basically Sony didn't want to know and offered me nothing, so shame on Sony, see how this set goes might look at Samsung in the future.

I replaced an 18 year old Panasonic plasma (that still worked perfectly) in December 2021 with a Barvia XR-X90J. This product was about twice the price as the competitive set, but I was looking for a premium product. Now, after just 2 years (25 months), horizontal lines have developed in the screen and Sony customer care's response is "go find a servicer to fix it". I expected so much more from both the product and their customer care.

I bought this TV to replace very old one. I know Sony brand very well and this is my second TV in the past 5 years. First of all I would say it is much faster than KD-55XD8599. New remote more comfortable and reliable. XR-55X90J is Google TV, so all Google services integrated in Home page. However, you can easily customize everything! I do not have any negative remarks about picture or sound quality. Very easy this TV integrates in my home network, what allows me to use my network resources. Number of HDMI and USB ports is enough to connect a lot of devices.TV set is light and slim, perfect to be mounted on the wall.

I bought the tv for my parents and it's just been a bunch of problems. Wifi isn't working and the lips are off sync with the audio granted not all the time. Very good buy until it developed fault

We bought this TV set in March of last year and were very happy with everything about it until it developed a fault - even though we had a five year guarantee from Sony and a further year from the retailer, it was very difficult to get any help at all. After much toing and froing we were expected to take the set to the nearest Sony repair centre which was over an hour and 15 minutes drive away for an 87 year old customer with no car and who couldn't lift the set because of heavy weight.

Even after consulting Sony support, their advice is that it needs repair (and since Sony only offers 1 year warranty, we have a $1500 paperweight). Recommend going with a more reliable brand.

An excellent Sony tv. Very good pictures. It surprised me how easy it was to setup and load. I like that you have to choose it you want the microphone or internet or not. They are not loaded by default. We did not want microphone monitoring and we get the internet with our Apple tv. Also was easy to connect our Sony BVD player, Bose speakers, and Apple tv to the Sony tv. Only had to plug in on cable for each device.

I've had Sony Bravia's for years and decided to upgrade to this Bravia XR 50X90J. Wow, what a difference it has made. I realized my older Bravia's pictures were nice, but to see this one is over the top, gorgeous. With the Full Array LED and outstanding processor makes me want to watch it 24/7. There is nothing about this X90J that I don't like. It's a long list of things that are fantastic. Picture is outstanding. Clear, crisp colors. Excellent black and white contrast. Easily connected to my WiFi. Automatically connected with my Dish remote. Google TV comes with it and that is helpful. Sony has it's APPs, which are nice, but basic. Mounting and set up was super easy to do with 2 people. 50 inch screen is perfect for my smaller living room. Only con, if any, would be the remote. While it is helpful, there is NO backlight on it and that is a disappointment. Price was fantastic as it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. For the quality of a Sony with Full Array LED, it is truly worth the money spent. Highly recommend this Sony X90J, especially when the price is very reasonable and not as expensive as the OLED.

I bought this to based on reviews, coming from a cheap LG tv I expected the x90j to be outstanding. This was not the case. I’ll start with picture quality, the blacks on this tv are awful. Blooming is so bad it takes the joy out of watching anything and changing settings does not help. The LG tv I had I bought for £500 and came with a magic remote which the x90j does not at nearly £1000, the sound is okay I guess but I use an external sound system. The backlight in this TV is what lets it down, I am told it’s an FALD which is far inferior to the LG nano I upgraded from. The TV also fails to turn on some times and we need to switch off at wall and back on again for it to work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying this tv. Based on my experience I am now looking at returning to LG and getting their OLED C2, I will not risk Sonys OLED.

Broken after 6 months

Initially, I was very happy with the TV, Amazing 4K Picture, the sound is a bit lacking so I use a soundbar, however after 6 months of use it has broken. No power at all, I am currently waiting for Sony to come out to repair the TV as they have to wait for parts. Mainly disappointed because, for a TV that is just 6 months old, I should have been offered a new replacement and not a repair. Good job it has a 5-year warranty as I presume I am going to have to use it a lot on this particular TV!

I love the picture quality but the Google OS is not user friendly and has issues with Disney App. I spent hours on the phone with both Sony and Disney and it's still has problems.
