Why Is Location Information Necessary and How To Turn It On?

    Why Is It Needed?

    Google offers services and third-party apps that use location information to optimize their services for each country. Depending on the application, if you don't turn on Location, the app may not work properly on your Android TV™.

    Enable Location

    1. Set the Location status to Use Wi-Fi to estimate location.
      1. On the supplied IR remote control, press the HOME button.
      2. Under the Settings category, select Settings.
      3. Under the Personal category, select Location.
      4. Select Location status.
      5. Select Use Wi-Fi to estimate location.
    2. Set Location in Restricted Profile to True.

      Note: This step is only necessary if you use a Restricted Profile.

      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Under the Settings category, select Settings.
      3. Under the Personal category, select Security & restrictions.
      4. Select Restricted Profile.
      5. Select Settings.
      6. Select Allowed Apps.
      7. Select Settings.
      8. Select Location.
      9. Select True.

    Note: The TV doesn't have a GPS module, but Wi-Fi® or network information can estimate location information.
