A black screen indicates an improper connection or an incorrect HDMI cable is used. Make sure the HDMI® cables and connected devices are compatible with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 2.2.
If an AV Receiver or Home Theater System is connected in between the Playstation® 4 Pro (PS4™ Pro) and TV, it must also support HDCP 2.2. Select your product below to confirm what you need to connect your devices correctly. Check your product manuals for model-specific information.

TV:
- Android TV™ Models
- Use the HDMI cable supplied with the PS4 Pro or a Premium High Speed HDMI cable version 2.0 or newer which supports 18Gbps to connect to the TV.
- Make sure to connect the HDMI cable to a port that supports HDCP 2.2.
- Other TV Models:
- You can check if your 4K Ultra HD TV is compatible with HDCP 2.2 .
- Use the HDMI cable supplied with the PS4 Pro or a Premium High Speed HDMI cable version 2.0 or newer which supports 18Gbps to connect to the TV.
- Make sure to connect the HDMI cable to a port that supports HDCP 2.2.
- If the PS4 Pro is connected to an XBR-55X900A, XBR-65X900A, or XBR-84X900 TV, HDCP 2.2 support can be activated through the 4K Activation website.
AV Receiver or Home Theater:
- You can check the list of 4K AV Recievers that don't support HDCP2.2 .
- Use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable version 2.0 or newer which supports 18Gbps.
- Make sure to connect the HDMI cable to a port that supports HDCP 2.2.
- If the AV device is not compatible with HDCP 2.2, connect the PS4 Pro directly to the HDMI port of the TV and then connect the AV device with a Digital Audio (Optical) cable or HDMI ARC.
If the HDMI Cable or AV Device Doesn't Support HDCP 2.2
- Start the PS4 Pro in Safe Mode
- Select 8. Set HDCP Mode.

- Select 2. HDCP 1.40 Only.
