What is Predictive Capture?

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

Predictive Capture automatically takes photos the instant an object enters the camera frame before you press a button. It detects movement in front of the camera lens and starts to buffer images while you’re preparing to shoot. So if you clicked too late, just go back and choose from up to four captured photos taken from around one second before you clicked the camera button. If no movement has been detected, Predictive capture will not be activated. Predictive capture can only be activated when Superior auto mode is selected and is set to Auto by default.

Note: On devices running Android 9.0, Superior auto is the default camera mode.
