Wide Area Tap function doesn't work (LinkBuds WF-L900)

Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Use the Wide Area Tap function with a different app.
      The tap reacts correctly.
The original app may not fully support the Wide Area Tap function and you will need to use the connected device to operate that app.
Note: Not all apps fully support the Wide Area Tap function and may not react as expected.
The tap doesn't work with that app.
Go to the next troubleshooting step.
    2. Perform the following procedure to verify that the Wide Area Tap function is working.
      1. Restart the connected device.
      2. Open the Sony | Headphones Connect app, tap the System tab, and disable the Wide Area Tap function. Then, enable it again.
      3. Check that the tap operation function is assigned to any function other than None Assigned.
        1. Tap the System tab, tap (Settings) to open the Change the tap operation function menu.
        2. Select a function other than None Assigned.
      4. Check the Wide Area Tap function again to see if it works correctly.
Note: Tap the area around the ear quickly with an interval of about 0.2 seconds. The tap can be easily detected by performing a firm tap with a forefinger or two fingers on the area from the tragus (small area of cartilage near the opening of the ear) to the area between the sideburn and lower jaw bone.
      The tap reacts correctly.
The issue was caused by a temporary malfunction, a setting, or the way you tap.

    3. Make sure that the ear fitting supporters are properly attached and the LinkBuds are properly inserted in the ears.
