    This utility installs the Sony® Visual and Voice Player Version 1.0.01 software on a computer.

    The Sony Visual and Voice Player version 1.0.01 is dedicated software to play voice and images recorded by ICD-CX series IC Recorders on computers that do not have the Sony Visual and Voice Editor software installed.

    Version 1.0.01 resolves an issue in version 1.0 where the top of a bookmark image did not display.

    Before You Start

    Important Notes

    • To use the Sony® Visual and Voice Player Software, your computer and system software must meet the following minimum requirements:
      • IBM PC/AT or compatible
      • CPU: 400 MHz Celeron® processor or higher
      • RAM: 64 MB or more
      • Hard disk drive space: 5 MB or more depending on the size and number of sound files you store.
      • Sound Board: Sound Blaster® 16 compatible
      • Display: Highcolor (16 bit) or higher color depth and 800x480 or higher resolution
      • One of the following, manufacturer-installed, Microsoft® Windows® Operating Systems:
        • Windows 98 SE (Second Edition)
        • Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 3 or higher
        • Windows Me
        • Windows XP Home Edition
        • Windows XP Professional
        • Windows XP Media Center Edition
        • Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
        • Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
    • Computer systems with any of the following characteristics are not supported:
      • Multi-boot environment
      • Windows 98, Windows 95, or Windows NT operating system
      • An upgraded version of the original manufacturer-installed operating system
      • Personally constructed computers or operating systems
      • Macintosh® computers
    • If Visual and Voice Player Software version 1.0 is already installed, this utility will overwrite that version and install version 1.0.01.
    • If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating system, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights during the installation of this upgrade.
    • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.

    Download & Install

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the VVPSETUP_EN.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the VVPSETUP_EN.EXE file to begin the installation. Please wait while the utility extracts the necessary files for the update.
      NOTE: If Visual and Voice Player Software version 1.0 is already installed, wait until the "Maintenance Complete" message is display and then click "Finish". The Sony Visual and Voice Player Software has been upgraded to version 1.0.01.
    4. At the "Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Sony Visual and Voice Player" screen, click "Next".
    5. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "Yes" to continue with the installation.
    6. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, click "Next".
    7. At the "Select Program Folder" screen, click "Next". Please wait while the program is installed.
    8. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, make sure "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." is selected, and then click "Finish".

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Visual and Voice Player Software is complete.

    Questions & Answers

    How To Use the Sony® Visual and Voice Player Software

    1. Record a message on the Sony® Visual IC recorder in the VOISCAPE™ file format.
    2. Use the Sony Visual and Voice Editor software to export the VOISCAPE file as a VVF file (Visual and Voice File).
    3. Use email or removable media to transfer the VVF file to the computer that has the Visual and Voice Player software installed.
    4. Double-click the VVF file to open and play it in the Visual and Voice Player.
