Benefits and improvements
This utility upgrades the Sony Visual and Voice Editor version 1.0 or 1.1 software to version 1.2 and provides the following benefits:Improvements over version 1.1:
- Adds the function to convert a message into a Macromedia Flash® (SWF) file.
NOTE: You can convert a PC message to a Macromedia Flash (SWF) file by specifying its image size, sound quality, destination, and effect (fade in/slide in). - Adds the function to register JPEG image files other than those made with the Sony Visual IC recorder so they can be used with the Visual IC recorder.
NOTE: JPEG image files made, or registered, with the Sony Visual IC recorder can be used as a Title Picture or a Bookmark. - Various operational issues with the software have been addressed.
Improvements over version 1.0:
- Corrects an issue that may occur when trying to divide a message after the one hour point of the message.
- Adds support for the Sony Visual and Voice Player software.
- The following Import / Export functions are added:
- VOISCAPE™ files can exported to VVF (Visual and Voice File) format that can be played with the Sony Visual and Voice Player software.
- VVF files can be imported to VOISCAPE format.
- With the Mail Transmission function, VOISCAPE files can be directly made into VVF files and attached to email.

Before You Start
Important Notes
- In order to install the Sony Visual and Voice Editor version 1.2.01 upgrade, Sony Visual and Voice Editor version 1.0 or 1.1 must already be installed on the computer.
- If you are using Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or Windows XP operating system, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights during the installation of this upgrade.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
Download & Install
Download and Installation Instructions
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- Download the VVE1.2.01EUPGRADE.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the
VVE1.2.01EUPGRADE.EXE file to begin the installation. - At the "Visual and Voice Editor has been successfully installed" message, click "Finish".
- Restart the computer.
After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Visual and Voice Editor Upgrade is complete.
- Start the Sony® Visual and Voice Editor software.
- On the menu bar, click "Help" and then click "About Visual and Voice Editor".
- If "Visual and Voice Editor Version 1.2.01.01120" is displayed in the dialog box, your upgrade is completed successfully.
