How to register the LocationFree® Base Station to the LFAPC2 and LFAPC20 LocationFree software.
Because the older LocationFree™ Base Stations do not have a setup mode and cannot be detected automatically by the newer software versions, a registration password is needed for connection.
IMPORTANT: The LFA-PC20 software cannot be registered to the older LocationFree Base Stations for both at home and on-the-go use at the same time.
To register the LocationFree Base Station to a newer version of the LocationFree Player® software, find the IP address of the base station and create a registration password prior to registering the software. It will be necessary to make two separate connections, one for in the home (local IP address), and one for on-the-go (DDNS).
NOTE: It may be necessary to create a new registration password between registering for in-home use and on-the-go use. For in-home use, make sure the PC is on the same network as the base station. If the computer connects via wireless to the base station, use IP address 172.29.71.1 instead of the local IP address for in-home use. You may need to do the on-the-go registration from an outside network if the router is unable to resolve the DDNS on the internal network. To make sure the Wired LAN Connection setting is enabled on the Base Station, go to the main Settings screen and tap Base Station . Tap Wired LAN Connection to make sure Enabled is selected and click OK .
To find the IP address of the Base Station:
