How to use a computer to transfer a playlist created on an older Walkman player to a newer Walkman

You can transfer the playlists by first moving the MUSIC folder from the older Walkman® player to the computer temporarily and then drag and drop that same folder to the newer Walkman player.

    • If music content not registered in the playlist(s) is transferred, you can delete them after copying the folder to the newer Walkman player, if necessary.
    • The Language Study content isn't supported on the newer Walkman player.
    • Music content registered in a playlist can't be stored separately in the player memory and SD card.
    • If the file(s) being transferred is large, it may take several hours to complete the process. If this is the case, you can copy sub-files or folders individually, but be sure to copy all folders and files.
    • If the music content registered in the playlist has not been transferred, it will not be displayed in the playlists of the Music player on the newer Walkman player.

    Before transferring the music content

    • The following Walkman models support transferring a playlist to other Walkman:
      • NW-WM1A, NW-WM1Z
      • DMP-Z1
      • NW-ZX300 Series
      • NW-A30, NW-A40, NW-A50 Series
    • Make sure you have sufficient free space on the newer Walkman player
Free space equivalent to or larger than the copy source Music folder is required. If there is not enough free space, it is recommended that you prepare a microSD card with the same or larger capacity and transfer it.
    • Check the free space on the computer.
Prepare any location with at least as much free space as the copy source Music folder.
